The SAM Smart Nozzle, when integrated with the SAM system, revolutionizes how fire crews approach their operations. Here’s how it works on the fireground:

Constant communication loop: information loops from the pump to the nozzle and back, keeping everyone informed without tying up precious radio lines.

SAM monitors and manages the flow: for each discharge, the pump operator can monitor valve pressure, rated and actual nozzle pressure, hose/friction loss, and more. Pressures can be adjusted automatically or manually at the valve.

Vital tank data in hand: the nozzle operator can monitor tank level and status from the smart control console on the nozzle.

Charge on-demand: the nozzle operator can charge their own line right from the nozzle.

Submergable, unstoppable

Nothing stands in your way under salt or fresh water. The saltwater icon on the tool dashboard lights up when the saltwater battery is inserted, so you can submerge the tool with confidence.

Roll warnings for unmatched safety

If the tool senses a potentially hazardous situation in cutting technique, the dashboard will alert the user to assess the situation. The new box-blade geometry allows for a 90 degree cutter approach angle with a deeper bite. The roll warning and box-blade combined create a safer working environment for your crew.

Turbo for speed and precision

The turbo function is activated as soon as the star grip is rotated to the last few degrees of control valve rotation in the opening or closing direction. Its precise feathering control ability allows the user maximum speed when circumstances allow, but user-controlled speed when safety demands it.

Star grip control

Depending on the direction in which the star grip is turned, the respective opening or closing symbol lights up in the dashboard. Fellow rescuers standing nearby can see whether the tool is being used and whether it’s being opened or closed. The directional indicators also serve as an excellent training aid to eliminate incorrect movement and decrease patient packaging times.
